Description
Fabulous, quality Scottish Agate and Silver brooch made in around 1890-1900. Alternating panels of striking agate sit atop a circle of silver and decorative clasps with an open inner silver circle.
There are no identifying marks but it tests positively for silver. One of the pale grey agates has a tiny chip to the outer border which is only visible through a jeweller’s loupe. There are also a few natural inclusions (natural flaws) to some of the agates – this is not damage, it’s natural and normal.
It measures 1 1/2” across (4.5cm) and has a secure clasp. It will be shipped in an antique jewellery box.
