Description
Georgian style silver salt with blue glass liner and spoon, with hallmarks for London 1968.
These salt and mustard pots were either gilded inside the bowls or fitted with blue glass liners to prevent the contents from eating into and damaging the silver. It is always recommended that the little spoons are not left in the salt or mustard. Once the silver has become damaged, they would need to be cleaned professionally.
This piece has a very good weight to it and stamped on the base by the maker, H H Plante with their address 12 Bury St, St James’s SW.
In excellent condition, there is a matching silver mustard pot under a separate listing.
